Rob Hallworth, Director
Rob works with the Study Abroad Office Staff on all aspects of study abroad at The George Washington University as well as overseas staff based in Paris, London, Madrid and Santiago. He consults with faculty and administration in Washington, D.C. to oversee the office’s budgets, develop future programs abroad, and implement GW’s plans related to internationalization. Rob studied abroad in Ukraine. He received his M.A. in Russian Area Studies from Georgetown University and his B.A. in History from the University of New Hampshire. He currently serves on Arcadia University’s Center for Education Abroad National Advisory Board, is a member of IES’s Institutional Membership Committee and participates in SIT’s Partnership Council. Rob is an active NAFSAn who has presented more than a dozen sessions at regional and national conferences over the past decade. He currently serves as the Education Abroad Knowledge Community’s Member Services Coordinator and was the Volunteer Co-Chair for the Local Arrangements Team for the 2008 Washington, DC NAFSA Conference.

Lucienne Jugant, Associate Director
Lucie oversees the short-term abroad programs, coordinates student petitions, and tracks GW study abroad statistics. She holds a B.S. in Social Science Secondary Education from Brigham Young University and a M.A. in International Affairs from the George Washington University with an emphasis on U.S. Foreign Policy and International Education. She is currently pursuing a M.S. in Exercise Science at GW. Lucie lived in Korea and Hong Kong for more than 15 years, has traveled to more than 35 countries, and studied abroad in France and Israel. Her interests include triathlons, hiking and camping, travel, and reading.

Laura Ochs, Executive Coordinator
Laura serves as the on-campus manager for the GW England and GW Paris. In her undergraduate career at Rollins College, she studied abroad in London at Birkbeck University while doing an internship in the publishing industry. After earning her B.A. in English, she spent two years teaching English in southern Japan on the JET Program. Laura is currently pursuing her M.A. in International Education at GW.

Cindy M. Perez, Executive Coordinator
Cindy serves as the on-campus manager for the GW Programs in Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica and Spain, as well as the GW Exchanges. She attended Hamilton College where she majored in Sociology and minored in Government. Cindy earned her M.A. in Higher Education Administration from GW in May 2008. Cindy has spent time traveling in Spain, England, Cuba, and Mexico and speaks Spanish.

Leanna Kowallis, Study Abroad Advisor
Leanna advises students for French-speaking Europe, Africa, and Australia/New Zealand. In addition to advising on those specific regions, Leanna oversees the transfer credit process. Leanna studied abroad in Paris, France during her undergraduate years and Geneva, Switzerland as a graduate student. She received a bachelor’s degree in English at Brigham Young University and recently received her M.A. in International Affairs at the Elliott School with a focus on Development and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Shelley Gentry Jessee, Study Abroad Advisor
Shelley adivses students studying in the United Kingdom, Ireland, and Asia. She also registers students for study abroad status. Shelley studied abroad in Beijing, China during her undergraudate years at Radford University. She recieved her B.A. in English concentrating on the Modernist movement in British literature. Shelley is now working towards a Master's degree in Higher Education Administration with a concentration in International Higher Education at GW.

Danielle Quigg, Study Abroad Advisor
In addition to advising students for programs in Spain and Latin America, Danielle coordinates the Focus on Fall Abroad program. She attended Susquehanna University where she majored in psychology and Spanish, and studied abroad in Valencia, Spain. Danielle earned her M.A. in International Education at the George Washington University in 2008.

Marc St. Hilare, Study Abroad Advisor
Marc advises students on study abroad programs in Europe and the Middle East. He also serves as billing coordinator, diversity coordinator, and campus representative for NSEP, Gilman, Freeman Asia, and GW Study Abroad Scholarships. Prior to coming to GW, Marc worked at the Institute of International Education in Washington, DC on professional exchange programs and proposal development. During his undergraduate years at the University of Colorado at Boulder, Marc majored in international affairs and studied abroad in Strasbourg, France.

Lucia Cucinotta, Operations Coordinator
Lucia is the Operations Coordinator for the Office for Study Abroad. She is the first point of contact for students seeking information about study abroad and manages the day-to-day tasks of the office. Lucia studied abroad in Guadalajara, Mexico and Florence, Italy during her undergraudate years at The George Washington University. She received her B.A. in International Affairs with a concentration in Conflict and Security and a minor in Peace Studies.
