Special Topics Workshops

The Office for Study Abroad offers Special Topics Workshops each semester to help prepare students for their study abroad experience. Past workshops have included regional brown bag lunches (e.g., Africa & the Middle East, Asia, Europe, English-speaking countries, and Spanish-speaking countries) to bring together departing students and program alumni to talk about cultural transitions. The OSA also holds special orientation sessions for students attending a GW program and hosts affiliated program providers who wish to meet with departing students.

Please contact the OSA if you have a recommendation about a topic for a workshop.

Regional Brown-Bag Lunches

Join the Office for Study Abroad and study abroad alumni for lunch and a discussion of your upcoming destination! GW study abroad alumni will field questions about what it's like to live in your destination, offer tips for quick adjustment, and provide cultural insights as you prepare to study abroad. Bring your lunch and questions, and the OSA will provide dessert!
