University Partner Exchange Program Scholarship
The University Partner Exchange Program Scholarship provides $1,500 for semester study in GW-sponsored exchange programs. Through the Exchange Program, GW students enroll in one of several universities abroad and complete classes with other international students or local university students. The GW University Partner Exchange Program promotes the internationalization of the GW campus as it allows students from partner universities around the world to study at GW.
Eligibility
All applicants must meet the following criteria at the time of application:
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- No history of judicial infractions or academic probation
- Plans to attend programs at Akita International University, Japan; Al Akhawayan University, Morocco; American University of Paris, France: Bogazici University, Turkey; Charles University, Czech Republic; Copenhagen Business School, Denmark; Deakin University, Australia; European School of Business, Germany; The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, China; King's College, England; Kyoto University, Japan; London School of Economics and Political Science, England; MICEFA, France; National University of Singapore, Singapore; Pembroke College, Oxford University, England; Royal Holloway University, England; Sciences Po (direct enrollment only), France; Seoul National University, Korea; Universidad Catolica de Argentina; Universidad de Chile, Chile; University College Maastricht, Netherlands; University of Leeds, England; University of Navarra, Spain; University of Sussex, England; University of Sussex, England; Universidad Torcuato di Tella; Waseda University, Japan; Yonsei University, Korea; University of Edinburgh, Scotland; and Universita Bocconi, Italy.
- Have submitted the GW Study Abroad Forms, essay and other required documentation by the deadlines

- Fall semester or year abroad: May 1
- Spring semester: November 13
How to Apply
Submit one essay (as described below) with an unofficial copy of your GW transcript to The Office for Study Abroad. GWeb transcripts are not accepted. Please include a cover sheet indicating your name, GWID, email address, the semester(s) you will study abroad, and your chosen program(s). Scholarship applications will not be accepted without the required Study Abroad Forms for program verification purposes.
Essay
Submit a 500- to 750-word typed essay on one topic from the following options:
- How do you handle stress in situations where you are unsure of how you are expected to behave? Please give a concrete example.
- What aspects of the transition to college life were the most challenging for you? How might you confront the same transitions abroad?
