Eligibility
Semester and Academic Year Programs
To be authorized to study abroad for a semester or academic year, students must meet the following criteria*:
- Students must have a minimum 2.75 cumulative GW grade point average.
- Students must be in good judicial standing at the time of application and remain in good standing prior to departure.
- Students must complete a minimum of 45 credit hours prior to departure.
- Students must have declared a major prior to departure.
- Transfer students must complete one full semester at GW prior to application.
Summer Programs
To be authorized to study abroad during the summer, students must meet the following criteria*:
- Students must be in good academic standing at the time of application (have a minimum 2.0 cumulative GW grade point average.)
- Students must be in good judicial standing at the time of application.
*Students who do not meet these requirements are not authorized by the University to study abroad during the semester or academic year, regardless of the minimum requirements for individual study abroad programs.
GW Short-Term Faculty-Led Programs
To be authorized to participate in a GW Faculty-Led Programs, students must meet the following criteria:
- Students must be in good academic (minimum 2.0 GPA) and judicial standing at the time of application.
- Students must meet the admission criteria specific to each program.
