Housing & Student Support
Accommodations
Students attending King's College London are guaranteed housing in King's or University of London accommodations if application is made by the King's housing deadline. Students live in university housing to maximize their integration into King's College student life. Housing is provided either in King's College residence halls and student apartments or in University of London intercollegiate residence halls, shared by students from all the colleges within the University of London system. Most accommodations are single rooms, although a small number are shared. While the majority of residence halls are self-catered, providing kitchen facilities so that students can cook their own meals, each of the King's College campuses has a cafeteria, offering meals and snacks at affordable prices.
Student Support
The Study Abroad office at King's College provides advice on all aspects of the study abroad stay including help during the admissions process. Dedicated advisers organize a two-day orientation program to ease the student's transition into King's. Students also have a specialist academic adviser in each department in which they study. In addition, the GW Resident Director offers a GW England orientation program in London at the start of each semester to prepare students for life and study in the UK and to provide an introduction to the capital city.
With a King's College student card, students can easily join the 50 sports clubs and numerous societies providing outlets for academic, cultural, political and religious interests. Students also automatically become members of the King's College London Students' Union with access to a range of services, including cafes, cafeterias, bars, nightclubs, shops, and a gym.
GW England's Resident Director, located in London, also organizes excursions and has overall responsibility for supporting GW students in England. The Resident Director and GW Office for Study Abroad maintain close contact with the Study Abroad Office at King's College London.
