GW Latin America: Costa Rica
Is this the program for me?
The programs at the International Center for Sustainable Human Development (Centro Internacional para el Desarrollo Humano, or CIDH) are ideal for students interested in contemporary issues of development, the environment and human rights.
Students take thematic courses and one Spanish course. The thematic courses are taught primarily in English and progressively incorporate developing Spanish language skills.
Two semesters of Spanish language are recommended but not required. Students with more advanced language skills can elect to do class reading and assignments in Spanish.
Students will have the opportunity to improve upon Spanish skills by living with Costa Rican host families and doing an optional internship or volunteer work.
