Early Application Deadlines for Spring 2009 Study Abroad
Please be aware of the following early application deadlines for Spring 2009 study abroad. The following programs have application deadlines at the beginning of the semester at GW. Therefore, if you are interested in applying for any of these programs, please visit the Study Abroad Locations section of our website to learn more about the programs and the application process.
The first step in the process is to complete a Policy Acknowledgement Form. This form is needed to become approved for study abroad through GW. If you are planning to study abroad in the Spring 2009 semester, please complete the form as soon as possible and return it to the OSA. You may email or fax the form to the office if you are away from campus.
Please note that while the following programs are the only GW-approved programs with deadlines before our Study Abroad Fair on September 23rd, many programs, including the GW Study Programs in England, Paris, Madrid, and Latin America, have deadlines at the end of September/beginning of October. Please visit the remainder of the website to check the deadlines of programs you are interested in applying to for the Spring semester to allow yourself enough time to complete the application.

New Open Advising Hours Effective 08/04/08.
As of August 4, 2008, Open Advising hours in the Office for Study Abroad (OSA) will be from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Students may visit the OSA during open advising hours to speak with an advisor about the study abroad process and recieve initial advising on program available for study abroad. Open Advising is held in the Resource Room on the first floor of the OSA.

Changes in the Application Process for the American University in Rome (AUR)
Beginning Fall 2008, GW students interested in attending AUR must first submit their application to the GW Office for Study Abroad (OSA) for consideration. The OSA will then nominate qualified students and send their applications directly to AUR in Rome. The deadline for submitting applications to the OSA for Spring 2009 study at AUR is Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at 5 p.m. Students may pick up an AUR application in the Office for Study Abroad's Resourse Room.
American University in Cairo Spring 2009 Application Deadlines
Students interested in studying at the American University in Cairo (AUC) for the Spring 2009 semester should submit their applications to AUC by August 1, 2008. Students may download the AUC application here. Students should also compelte a Policy Acknowledgement Form and return it to the GW Office for Study Abroad before submitting their application.
